Is Chivalry Dead?

The good guy or girl seems not to exist anymore or is extremely hard to find in the road to developing a long lasting relationship. It is about the “all about me attitude” in modern society. Thus, this modern day thinking leads to the question is chivalry dead?

Day McKenzie: According to Day, chivalry is not completely dead. However, it does not seem to exist as it use to. Her definition of chivalry, “chivalry is when you show respect and do the typical gentleman and women duties.”

Stevonnie Gasque: Stevonnie feels chivalry is not necessarily dead either. She states, “It depends on the person and how they were raised.” Her definition is simple about chivalry. It is being nice and kind.

James Pinkney: James’ opinion on chivalry is that it is rare in modern society today. Most people are concerned about themselves so therefore the whole idea of what chivalry is supposed to be has sort of diminished. His definition of chivalry is “when it comes to a male, it is being a gentleman. Therefore being polite, genuine, and kind.”

Overall, chivalry continues to be an ongoing question on whether or not it is dead. The answer probably won't ever be solidify, but for those who do believe it is not dead gives hope that kindness, respect, and not "all about me" mannerism still exists and for those who do believe it is dead falls in the category of many others who believes now people are more about themselves which leads to the rudeness and other not chivalrous characteristics.

The greatest, she is just simply the greatest. Meet the beautiful young lady who welcomes you in with her warm, inviting personality. The young lady I am speaking of name is Day McKenzie. Sit back, relax and enjoy this profile on Miss Day McKenzie.
To begin, the twenty-one year old Day McKenzie is from Connecticut. She did not say what part of Connecticut, but that is where she is from and she currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina. Her birthday is June 3rd. Therefore, she represents the Gemini zodiac sign and if I had to choose one word that explains her that relates to the Gemini personality, the word would be energetic. Day seems to be very energetic and has a very positive attitude. She attends Winthrop University. She says she does not know her status at Winthrop University. However, her major is Digital Information Design with her concentration being in Digital Commerce. Day has two other siblings. She has an older brother named Taylor McKenzie and a twin sister named Von McKenzie. She also stated that her mother is a widow. Thus, now with a little general information about Day, it is only right to talk about some specific things this lovely individual enjoys doing.
So the question was: “So Day, what are some of your hobbies you enjoy doing?” A smile, pauses, then responds with a little sense of she is unsure if these are truly fun hobbies that one thing she enjoys doing is playing Lacrosse. It caught me surprise, not to be stereotypical, but you just do not hear a lot of young African Americans saying they like to play Lacrosse or maybe it might be that I just have not heard a lot of young African American  ladies saying a hobby they like is playing Lacrosse. Anyway, some other hobbies she enjoys doing that were interesting to me is sewing, drawing, and making websites. Making websites is one due to the fact that her major requires her to create a lot of websites. So practice makes perfect. Another hobby she mentioned but was not sure if you would consider it a hobby is that she likes to do make-up. She looked like the fashion type lady, the one who is not afraid to try new things, find a way to bring things together and make it look good. So that part really did not catch me by surprise. Next, the question was: “What sort of music do you enjoy listening to?” Instantly, her answer was 90’s hip-hop and r&b music. She also likes country music and Spanish music being that she is part Hispanic. Asked her who her favorite country artist is and who her favorite artist was in the 90’s, her response for favorite country artist was Jason Aldean and favorite artist during the 90’s was Aaliyah. After she told me her favorite artist from the 90’s was Aaliyah, we had a little moment where we spoke on some of her songs that we both enjoyed. I forget which one she specifically said is one of her favorites by the artist. Day’s favorite TV shows are: Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Empire Girls, American Horror Story, and Spongebob Squarepants. We both laughed when she said Spongebob, calling ourselves big kids watching these cartoons. Finally, we got into some of Day’s goals, things she aspire to pursue in the future. I liked the way she claimed one of her goals already, like this is going to happen, but that goal is to be a PR Specialist for Sephora. Like I said though, when I asked her this question, she was like “I will be a PR Specialist for Sephora.” I liked that confidence and optimistic thinking as she answered the question, but her other goals she mention is not to be living in South Carolina and that she will be famous by 25. Again that confidence and claiming something already even though it has not happened yet, got to love that about Miss Day McKenzie, which is why she is as she claim “the greatest.”
